The basketry of the Pomo people is considered by many to be the finest in California. Pomo basketry is renowned for being exceptionally well-twined and intricately Pomo basket weavers often use various woody materials, beads, and colored traditional materials used for baskets were sedge root, willow shoots and roots, bulrush or blackroot, redbud shoot, bracken fern.
